Hikari Farm is a certified organic greenhouse operation in Watsonville, CA, founded by Akira Nagamine, who arrived in the United States in 1956 from Kagoshima, Japan, with $24 in his pocket and founded his own farm in 1967. Today the farm is run by his daughter Janet, a physician who returned to continue the family legacy.
