Overview

At Rootstock, we work with fresh, seasonal products sourced directly from local farms. Because of the nature of these products, our refund and return policies are designed to balance quality, fairness, and the realities of perishable food.

Returns

Fresh Produce and Perishable Items

All sales of fresh produce and perishable goods are final. We do not accept returns due to the inherently perishable nature of these items.

Non-Perishable Items

Non-perishable items may be returned within 7 days of delivery if they are in original condition, unused, with tags, and in original packaging. Proof of purchase is required.

Damages and Quality Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery or pickup. If an item arrives damaged, in poor condition, or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible at hello@rootstock.earth.

To help us resolve the issue, please include:

  • A brief description of the issue

  • Photos clearly showing the problem

We will make a good faith effort to resolve issues through store credit or a refund, depending on the situation.

Product Expectations

Natural Variation

Our products are agricultural and naturally variable. Differences in flavor, sweetness, size, or appearance are expected and are not considered defects. We prioritize flavor, nutrition, and freshness over cosmetic perfection.

Storage

We may share best practices for storing produce. Improper storage may affect shelf life and quality and does not qualify for a refund.

Order Fulfillment Issues

Because we work directly with local farms, availability may be impacted by weather, harvest timing, or other agricultural factors.

If we are unable to fulfill part of your order, we will:

  • Notify you as soon as possible

  • Provide a full refund for the affected items, or

  • Offer a substitution of comparable value, when appropriate

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Fresh produce and perishable goods

  • Sale or promotional items

  • Gift cards

  • Items that have been used or consumed beyond normal inspection

Return Process for Non-Perishable Items

To initiate a return:

If approved, we will provide return instructions. Items sent without prior authorization will not be accepted.

Refund Processing

Once a return is received and inspected, we will notify you of approval status. Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund.

Pickup and Delivery Considerations

Order Changes

Orders may be modified until Tuesday at 11:59 PM PST. After this time, orders are finalized.

Missed Pickups

If you are unable to pick up your order, contact us at hello@rootstock.earth before the pickup window closes. We will make a good faith effort to accommodate an alternative, though this is not guaranteed.

Unclaimed Orders

Orders not picked up and without prior communication may be resold at our discretion and are not eligible for refund.
