They grow around 40 varieties of nectarine, all hand-picked and tree-ripened. The vineyard-quality soil, rolling hills, and hot days with cool nights of the Newcastle foothills create fruit that is rich in sugar and full of flavor. Yellow nectarines are bolder and more aromatic than their white counterparts — higher in acid, with a bright tanginess that balances their deep, honeyed sweetness and a firm flesh that holds up beautifully at peak ripeness.
This full flat is approximately 9–10 lbs, with an average of 25–30 nectarines. Because these are harvested to order and ripened naturally on the tree, nectarine size varies week to week.
