Unit price perDandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate maker in San Francisco's Mission District that travels and builds lasting relationships with cacao farmers before crafting small batches in their San Francisco factory. All of their chocolate is made with just two ingredients — cocoa beans and sugar, nothing else. Each bar is produced to highlight the unique natural flavors of where the beans were grown.
Sample three of Dandelion's small-batch, single-origin dark chocolate bars:
Maya Mountain, Belize 70% — Beans sourced from Maya Mountain Cacao, a social enterprise working with indigenous Q'eqchi' and Mayan smallholder farmers in southern Belize. Tasting notes: strawberry ice cream and chocolate truffle.
Semuliki Forest, Uganda 70% — Grown by roughly 1,000 organically certified farmers in western Uganda, over half of whom are women. Tasting notes: ripe tropical fruits, honey, and milk chocolate.
Tumaco, Colombia 70% — From the Tumaco region, where Cacao Hunters works with small farm co-ops to cultivate regional varieties and support local families with stable, above-market prices. Tasting notes: chocolate malt, almond praline, and cream.
