Full Belly Farm
Charentais Melon
$10
Unit price / perFull Belly Farm is a 400-acre certified organic farm in the Capay Valley of Northern California, farming organically since 1985. The Charentais is a French heirloom melon developed in the Poitou-Charentes region in the 1920s — small, intensely fragrant, and widely considered one of the finest melons in the world. The flesh is deep orange, dense, and extraordinarily sweet, with a floral aroma so pronounced that a ripe one fills the room the moment you cut it open. That fragrance is your ripeness indicator: if you can smell sweetness at the stem end, it's ready. At around 2.5 lbs, it's a personal-sized melon that rarely makes it past the cutting board.
